IV Therapy

IV vitamin and mineral drips are an increasingly popular way to boost mood, energy and nutrient status. Results can be felt the same day in some cases and can last upwards of 4-8 weeks.

At MacLeod Naturopathic we use IV therapy to treat a variety of health concerns including anxiety, burnout, digestive issues and more.

100% Absorption

IV therapy introduces nutrients directly into the bloodstream and skips the digestive system where many nutrients can be lost or degraded. It is truly 100% absorption.

Quick Acting

No waiting for absorption, no “first-pass” effect by the liver means your nutrients get directly into your bloodstream, tissues and cells. No waiting around for results.

Nutrient-Packed

We offer a variety of intravenous vitamins, minerals, trace elements amino acids and other co-factors. Your IV treatment is selected specifically for you.

Getting Started With IV Therapy

The Myers cocktail is a broad-spectrum nutrient replenishment formula that helps to increase the body’s nutrient status overall. The Myers’ cocktail is a good starting point with IV therapy and is enough to boost energy, boost mood and relieve stress for most patients.

Most patients who have IV therapy start with the Myers cocktail. There are additional nutrients which can be added to the treatment including L-carnitine, glutathione, ATP, zinc, selenium and other trace elements. These nutrients are selected on a case by case basis and depend on the health needs of the patient.

To ensure that IV therapy will be a safe and effective treatment for you an initial naturopathic consultation is required prior to starting IV therapy. If you would like to get started with IV treatment immediately after your initial visit please book a “Initial consultation with IV treatment.” The initial IV therapy treatment is offered at a discount if it is on the same day as the initial consultation.

Initial consultation: $180
Subsequent IV treatment: $140
Initial consultation with IV treatment: $255 ($65 savings)

Why IV Therapy?

IV therapy can be used to treat many health conditions. An IV nutrient formula tailored to the individual provides the required minerals, vitamins and cofactors to correct deficiencies, restore balance and affect metabolic change.

IV therapy uses a combination of specific nutrients to stimulate optimal energy maintenance and metabolism. IV nutrient formulas are targeted at helping specific pathways and processes in the body to function at their best. IV therapy is preferred over oral nutrient supplementation in some situations because it provides increased bioavailability and absorption, achieving higher peak nutrient levels in the blood and in the cells.

IV therapy is a treatment with excellent safety when administered by a trained practitioner. Safety data and clinical experience point to the occasional mild adverse effects following IV therapy including light-headedness or discomfort at the site of infusion. These adverse effects are typically self-limiting when they occur and go away within a few hours. Adjusting administration speed is often enough to mitigate these adverse effects.
